Professional Golf Management

Golf Coach


As a golf coach you will have the opportunity to set your own hours and choose your own clients. There are opportunities to teach golf students on a one-on-one basis or in group settings. Your clients can include beginners, established players or professionals looking to improve their game and win tournaments.Your choices of work settings include country clubs, public courses, high schools and colleges. Entry Level Positions


You do not have to obtain a degree to work in the golf industry. Many entry level positions are available. The Professional Golfers' Association has developed a job board where courses around the country can post jobs available. You can work as a caddy by driving around the players and handing them their clubs. This position basically means that you will be the golfer's assistant. You may also opt to work in retail or in food and beverage at country clubs, private courses and public courses. Member services positions are also available where you will be responsible for setting up tee-times and club and cart rentals. Maintenance, landscaping and driving range ball retrieval jobs are also available at most golf facilities.


Considerations


If you opt for an hourly position there may be times when you will not have work. This will be dependent upon weather and how well the business is doing. Those who obtain a degree will be more likely to succeed in a golfing career.
