Having to have graduated from a professional beauty school or barber college should be on top of the list. Other qualifications could include first aid experience. It is important to have your qualifications in order, as your clients will be interested in where you went to school, and what experience you have in cutting hair. Perhaps starting a portfolio of some of your work will help a client determine if your services are for them.

3. Check your equipment. Making sure you have the necessary equipment is essential when starting a mobile hairdressing business. Being prepared looks professional when styling hair at someone's house. Double-check all of your equipment before starting.

4. Advertise. When starting a business it is a good idea to keep advertising costs as low as you can. A good way of advertising your business is to ask your friends or family members for referrals. Friends are able to recommend you to their social network, allowing word of mouth to be the best possible source of advertising. Other affordable ways of advertising include bulletin boards and Internet websites that allow people to advertise their services for free or a small fee.
