Having multiple streams of income is the only way that I can see to make money without a job. The more things that you do to earn some income the greater your chances are to not need a job. Below are ways that I am many have found to be lucrative.

1. Selling something is always good. This can range from buying items dirt cheap from local garage sales and reselling again for profit to purchasing wholesale and selling retail. Ebay is a great online presence for this sort of selling as well as your local flea market for the lower end items
2. Writing for money: We have read over and over again how you can make money writing articles and there is really something to this. The trick to it is to know that you aren't going to get rich overnight but can make a nice piece of change. The good thing about writing for money is you don't have to be a scholar or a professional writer. Writing online content doesn't have the same demands as in the academic world. Websites like eHow, Triond, Associated Content and Bukisa are just a few places that will pay for your written content.
3. Ad sheet marketing: If you have a computer and some publishing type software like Publisher you can be making some good extra or maybe even fulltime income. Local businesses must do some form of advertising but they can not always afford the rates of the local newspaper. You can design a community type ad sheet that talks about local events, horoscope and trivia all framed by ads from local businesses. You will take your ad sheet into local businesses and sell them on the idea of running in your publication for much less. You then will take your ad sheet full of advertisers and tidbits of local information and placed them in local restaurants and eateries for people to read while they eat or wait for their food. Your advertisers are happy because their ads are being seen, and the customers are happy because they have something interesting to read while they wait.
4. Window washing is something that you can start almost immediately. Storefront businesses will pay for their windows to be washed on a monthly and even weekly basis. Get a few of these businesses and you have a nice piece of change. You can also do this type work whenever you want.
5. Holding up a sign for $10 an hour can be another stream of income. We have all seen the people on the corner holding up a sign trying to get your attention. Well what you may not know is they get paid about $10 an hour. Some sit and some dance around with there music playing in their ears all while they are getting paid. It turns out that this type of advertising is more cost effective and businesses are willing to pay you because people will notice you quicker than a $2000 billboard sign on the highway.
6. Get paid to tutor math, science or English. If you are good in a subject why not share your knowledge and make an income at the same time. Tutors are in high demand so much so that there are tutoring brokers popping up everywhere to hire tutors. You don't have to wait to be approached by a broker you can walk into your neighborhood school or library and make your service known. Hand out a few business cards or fliers and you are in businesses.
