3. Advertise yourself. If you have spoken for free at a seminar, leave your business card with the organizer in the hope that you'll asked to speak again in the future. If your expertise is in customer service relations, for example, find seminars and conferences that are directly related to this topic. Write to or call the organizer, and offer your services. Eventually, you will begin to build a network of contacts, who will start to call you.
4. Take out an advertisement in a trade magazine. State your area of expertise so when a television or radio show is looking for an expert, the producer may call you. Although these performances will be for free at first, they will make your resume look more impressive and will demonstrate your abilities to a large number of people. People will then start to call you, and you can begin getting paid for the work.
