Get Paid For Seminars

Public speaking can be a viable career.

Becoming a highly paid public speaker is not an easy task, especially if you have not achieved something particularly noteworthy, such as climbing Mount Everest or having been in the Olympics. However, if you are adept at public speaking and you find a niche in the market, you can turn this into a business. By gradually increasing your contacts and your experience, you will be able to get paid for seminars and make this job your full-time source of income.

Instructions

1. Think about your life and about what you can talk about. If you have achieved something remarkable, that is an obvious selling point, but even if you haven't, you can still become a professional speaker. The best speakers can advise people based on personal experience. Find something you have done or have experienced that people will be willing to listen to.

2. Begin by speaking for free. Write to conferences and seminars related to your subject, and ask if you can speak for free. This will help you perfect your delivery and your speech. Learn what goes well and what is not so successful. If the audience laughs at a section, you have engaged successfully with them. If the audience does not react, you need to improve that section of your speech.

3. Advertise yourself. If you have spoken for free at a seminar, leave your business card with the organizer in the hope that you'll asked to speak again in the future. Call other conference or seminar organizers, and tell them of your experience. If your expertise is in customer service relations, for example, find seminars and conferences that are directly related to this topic. Write to or call the organizer, and offer your services. Eventually, you will begin to build a network of contacts, who will start to call you.

4. Take out an advertisement in a trade magazine. State your area of expertise so when a television or radio show is looking for an expert, the producer may call you. Although these performances will be for free at first, they will make your resume look more impressive and will demonstrate your abilities to a large number of people. People will then start to call you, and you can begin getting paid for the work.
