How Get A Business Logo Cheap

Logo design doesn't have to be expensive.

Having your business logo designed by a professional graphic designer or ad agency is expensive. Keep the price of your business logo down by creating your logo yourself, or find local resources that will keep your limited budget in mind. Remember, however, that you get what you pay for, so choose your designer or logo design software wisely. Read all the fine print and ask questions before paying for a business logo.

Instructions

Online

1. Visit an online logo creation or online printing company website. Choose your industry type from the offered formats.

2. Select a clip art, letter-based, or abstract design. Enter your text and select font types and styles. Change the text colors and backgrounds. Use the site tools for adjusting the size of your elements. Save your results when you are happy with the design.

3. Read the terms and conditions before buying the design. Find out if your logo design includes a CD ROM of different file formats so you can use your logo in the future for website or print purposes, which both require different image resolutions. Ask to have your logo saved in as many formats as possible. Be aware that you may be required to purchase a license to use the clip art.

4. Read the fine print for information regarding refunds or alterations if you mistakenly misspell a word or use the wrong clip art. Buy your logo only from a secure website. Look for the "https" in the address window of your browser to ensure that it is secure.

Downloads

5. Read reviews for logo software online on websites such as cnet.com or zdnet.com, finding the type of program for your skill level: beginner, intermediate, or advanced.

6. Download free logo design programs from the Internet or the software company's website. Select programs with designed templates.

7. Read the system requirements ensuring the free software is compatible with your computer. Install the software to your hard drive.

8. Select a template. Click on the tool icons for altering text, color, backgrounds, gradients, shadows, or outlines. Insert clip art from the software library or import your own.

9. Consult the Help file for information about techniques used in your specific product.

Hire a Student

10. Call the graphic design or art department of your local college. Speak with the instructor or department chair about having students design your business logo as a class project, or hiring an individual student.

11. Supply the instructor or student with any information you would like added to your logo, such as images and text or design styles.

12. Provide a compact disc, for saving the logo design. Offer a donation for a good design.

Print Shop

13. Call around to several print shops in your area. Purchase a business card or other inexpensive item from the print shop because your logo design may be included or offered for a small design fee, with the total price of your purchase.

14. Speak to the designer about your ideas, images you wish to use, color selections and other elements.

15. Submit a rough sketch helping the print shop designer gain ideas about your logo creation.

Sign Shops

16. Contact a sign shop in your area. Order an inexpensive decal of your logo because a design fee may be included, or offered for free with your purchase.

17.Ask the sign contractor if the design is included in the decal fee and whether he or she can provide you with copies of the design in various file formats for free or negotiate a reasonable price for later use on websites or in print.

18. Provide the sign shop designer with a rough sketch of your ideas. Discuss colors, text style, and other elements you would like to include.
