Fundraising Ideas For A Baseball Team

Many little league baseball teams support team activities and purchase equipment and uniforms through fundraisers. While there are many ways to raise funds for sporting and other organizations, using baseball-specific events can make fundraising more fun as well as entice people to support your team.

Home Run Hitting

Sell chances to hit a home run. Offer a prize -- donated by a local business -- to the person who hits the most home runs. You can host the event before or after one of your team's games.

Signed Baseballs

Have your little leaguers autograph baseballs just like the pros do. Sell these autographed balls at your next game to raise funds. It's not only a good way to raise money but can help boost your team's spirit and confidence as they sign baseballs for fans -- just like the major league players do.

Baseball Cards

Go to a print shop and have baseball cards created for your team. Each card can have a player's photograph and game stats on it. Your players can sign the cards and auction them to the highest bidders. An alternative to auctioning the cards might be to sell the sets for 20 percent -- or more -- above what you paid to have them produced.

Product and Refreshment Fundraising

Candy bars, baseball-shaped lollipops, popcorn and other edible treats are a good way to raise funds for your baseball team. Cheap snacks that your team can purchase and resell at games can also be an effective way to raise funds. These include hot dogs, canned soda and snow cones. Holding a barbecue and selling plates during game time is another way to use food and refreshments to raise money for your team.
