Cleaning cars and trucks so that they look brand new is a service that will never run out of customers. People love new, clean looking cars, yet often don't have the time or energy to do as quality a job cleaning their vehicle as a detailing shop. There are some techniques to running an auto detailing shop that will keep your customers coming back.


Specific Auto Detailing Deals


To draw customers to your auto detailing shop during slower times in the day, offer some early bird or late night auto detailing deals to draw customers. For example, offer $10 to $20 discounts for customers who stop in before 8 a.m., if the shop opens at 7 a.m. Offer special detailing deals on holidays as well. Hang a display board by the road in front of the shop to tell passing motorists of special deals you have on specific days.


Detailing Cards


Issue cards to customers who use your shop that give discounts to those who buy enough details, products or car washes. This all depends on what you want to offer your customers for their loyal patronage. For example, if customers get 10 car washes at your shop, they can earn an auto detail free. Or, if they get five auto details at your shop, they get half-price on their next five details. The cards also act as promotional items, reminding customers to visit your detailing shop every time they open their wallets.


Paint Check-Ups


Treat the exterior of customer's cars like an oil change shop would treat what's going on under the hood of their car. Do this by providing a detailed analysis of the current quality their paint, of any scratches or dents on their car and any recommendations the expertise of your shop has about maintain the paint and the shine to your vehicle over a long period of time. Recommend check-ups by your detailing shop and some things they can do in the meantime to maintain the shine and wax on the outside of the car. Sell them these products, in limited supply of course, so they have to return for your auto detailing services.
