Eyecatching Ideas For Job Ads In The Care Field

The number of health care jobs continues to increase.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of health care will generate 3.2 million new jobs between 2008 and 2018, more than any other industry in the country. An attractive job advertisement can help you find qualified applicants for your organization's open positions.

People

People like to "see themselves" in advertising; pictures of people help readers imagine how they would look in a nurse's uniform or reading X-rays. Use a large, high-quality image of a person in the job you're advertising for as a focal point for your ad.

Activity

A photo will be even more engaging to readers if you can show a person in a job-related activity, such as interacting with patients or working with medical equipment.

Keep it Real

It could be worth the time and cost to hire a professional photographer to catch images of your real employees at work. Using real people in an advertisement makes it believable. Identify the workers by giving their name and job title--even better, ask them for a short statement positively describing their job or what it's like to work for your company, and use that quote in your ad.

Other Images

If your business has a simple, attractive logo--particularly one that includes elements that show you are care-related, such as a cross or a heart--include it in your ad design. It gives readers another visual clue to remember you by. However, be careful not to clutter your ad. One strong photo and a logo should be enough images.

Short and Simple

You'll want to include certain information in your job ad, such as what your company does, what position(s) you're hiring for and what the benefits are of working there. Keep these points short--bullet points work better in an ad than paragraphs.

Call to Action

Decide exactly what you want people to do upon seeing your ad, and give them clear information to help them do it. If you want them to find more information on your website, give your URL in a large, clear font--same goes for a phone number if you want them to call. An online ad intended to urge people to apply can contain a prominent link to an online job application.
