Write A Motorsport Cv

Experienced engineers, mechanics and statisticians look for positions on racing teams and companies that support other motorsport activities. A curriculum vitae (CV) sent to a motorsport company must stand out. According to My Racing Resume, decision makers have hectic schedules that don't allow time to read through long and ineffective resumes.

Instructions

1. Include specific roles you've held, such as head mechanic in a busy repair shop that caters to sports cars, engineer on a team that designed new fuel systems, or body shop manager. Add extracurricular activities that are relevant, such as pit-crew member for a local drag racing team or director of a racecar association.

2. Use a format that demonstrates quickly what you've done, where you did it and what you can bring to a new situation.

3. If your new fuel regulator design helped increase your team's car performance by 10 percent, say so. Specify winning teams with which you were associated.

4. Show off your outside interests on a motorsport CV. Membership in a motor club, involvement with local nonprofit racing teams and sponsorship of various race-related activities signal a potential employer that you are serious about your vocation. Mike Callinoff, NASCAR veteran and owner of My Racing Resume, says that motorsport employers look for those who have demonstrated a passion for the sport.

5. Prominently display your certificate in Automotive Systems, a valuable designation offered by the Motorsports Institute in North Carolina. Obtain a sanctioned racing license from the Miller Performance Training Center to illustrate your dedication and first-hand knowledge of the intricacies of the sport.
