Register For Microsoft Certification

Microsoft offers certification tracks for IT professionals, developers, office users and trainers who use Microsoft technologies. Obtaining certification is useful if you are currently looking for employment and want to verify your skills. In some cases, an employer may provide you with a raise or promotion on the basis of having certification. You may take the exams for the certification tracks at any testing center authorized to proctor Microsoft exams.

Instructions

1. Choose a certification track. If you are an IT professional, you may want to consider the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) track which verifies skills using Windows Server technologies or the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) track which verifies skills implementing infrastructure solutions for the Windows Server 2003 platform.

Developers may want to consider the Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) track which verifies programming and software design skills using Microsoft technologies, such as programming using Visual Basic. Other certification tracks are available.

2. Find the first exam for your certification track. You can find this using the training catalog on Microsoft's website.

3. Register for the exam. You may register online or by phone with Prometric. When you sit for the exam, you will need to provide a state- or federally issued photo identification card.
