Pizza Cake Ideas

A pizza cake is the perfect centerpiece for a pizza party.


If you are looking for a cake that is a hit with kids of all ages, make a pizza cake. Pizza is popular with kids and a cake resembling a pizza is likely to entice them even more. Make a cake in any flavor and fill it as desired. Choose the frosting you want to put on the cake and decide on the pizza "toppings". Use fondant, marshmallows, candy or fruit to make the toppings. Pepperoni Pizza


Pepperoni pizza is a perennial favorite and replicating it in cake is sure to delight your celebrants. Bake a round cake of the desired size and cool completely. A 9-inch cake can serve about eight to10 people. Frost the top of the cake with red frosting and frost the sides with light brown frosting to resemble the crust. Roll out ivory-colored fondant and cut into strips to resemble mozzarella cheese for the pizza topping. Roll out red-colored fondant and cut out circles with a 2-inch round cookie cutter to resemble pepperoni topping. Place the "cheese" on the red frosting, spreading it around evenly. Place "pepperoni pieces" on the cake and finish off by piping light brown frosting around the cake to resemble the risen crust.


Fruit Pizza


A fruit pizza is perfect for fruit lovers and pizza lovers. Instead of fruit on a regular pizza base, place fruit on a frosted cake to make a complete dessert resembling a real pizza. Bake a cool a round cake. Slice in half and fill it with plain or flavored whipped cream. Frost the top of the cake with red whipped cream. Place sliced fruit on top of the cake including strawberries, mango, bananas, kiwi and grapes. Grate white chocolate and sprinkle evenly on top of the cake to resemble mozzarella cheese.


Vegetable and Meatballs Pizza


Make a realistic pizza topped with candy "vegetables" and chocolate "meatballs." Bake and cool a round cake. Melt vanilla frosting for 25 seconds in the microwave. Add drops of red food coloring and mix well. Pour the frosting evenly over the cake and allow it to set a little. Spread beige frosting on the sides of the cake and pipe a thick ring around the diameter of the cake to resemble the crust. Slice Ferrero Rocher chocolates in half and place on the cake to resemble meatballs. Arrange raisin chocolates to resemble sausage and fish-shaped candy to resemble anchovies. Make sliced onions by flattening gum drops in granulated sugar and cutting them out with a 3-inch round cookie cutter. Place the "onion" on the cake and sprinkle grated white chocolate on top to resemble cheese.


Chocolate Pizza


A chocolate pizza is a treat for dessert lovers. Frost a round cake with red frosting on top and brown frosting on the sides. Chop green-colored chocolate candy coating and sprinkle on top of the cake to resemble green peppers. Place red-colored candy coating pieces to resemble pepperoni and sausage. Melt brown chocolate and white chocolate. Drizzle on top to resemble the cheese topping. As an extra, you can melt brown chocolate and spoon it over the cake in small round and oval shapes to resemble a meat topping.
