Ideas For Marketing Rental Properties

Ideas for Marketing Rental Properties

Marketing rental properties can be difficult at times. To make your property stand out from the rest, you have to be creative. Instead of merely putting a sign outside the property and an advertisement in the newspaper, try these ideas.

Social Media

If you do not already have Facebook and Twitter accounts, now is the time to get them. When you have a property that needs to be rented, post some attractive photos of the property along with some key information.

Website

Having a website for your property works well because you can immediately refer people to that site. You should have several flattering photos of the property, as well as information about the local community, schools and the house itself. You may attract renters from out of town.

Print Media

In addition to the usual advertisement in the classified section of the newspaper, market your rental property by placing a full color ad in some of the local specialty publications. This is usually not expensive and may catch the eye of someone who otherwise would not have noticed your ad in the classifieds.

Word of Mouth

Word of mouth can be one of the most effective ways to market your rental property. Have some business cards made up with a photo of your property and your contact information. Hand them out freely as you go about your daily life. Encourage your previous renter to do the same by offering a financial incentive for referrals.

Open House

Open houses are not only for properties that are for sale. Have one to show off your rental property. Bake some cookies in the oven beforehand so your property is irresistible.
