The recycle logo is public domain.
The recycle logo can be found on boxes, bottles and bins, and it helps people identify which items can be recycled and where to recycle them. Recycling logos can be made for free and printed on clothes to promote green living. Anyone can create a recycle logo that is different from the original, with creativity and inspiration from the environment.
Instructions
1. Select images or symbols that will be used to design the logo. Choose symbols and images that represent the environment, like trees, leaves, plants, water or the earth. Include the three arrows used to represent the recycling process or the words "reduce, reuse, recycle" in the design.
2. Sketch your recycle logo on a plain sheet of paper using a pencil. Draw the logo large enough make even the smallest detail easily visible. Remember that the simpler your logo is, the easier it will be to reproduce. Outline the pencil sketch with a black pen, and color in your recycle logo using colored pencils or markers.
3. Scan the logo into a design or photo editing program. Crop the image using the crop tool, which can be located at the top or side toolbar menu of the program. Get as close to the edges as possible, to remove empty space around the logo.
4. Place a filter on the recycle logo image. Select "Filters" or "Effects," then "Filters" in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Choose a filter that will add an artistic look to the logo. Adding a filter to the image will also make it look like a graphic, instead of a plain sketch.
5. Save the completed recycle logo image on a flash drive or the computer's hard drive, for future use on art projects.
