There are many ideas which can be used for a funny speech at school. These can range from the inane to a humorous story told in a deadpan way. Humor is subjective, so however funny a speech is, it won't affect all of an audience. There are some ideas, though, which will generally appeal to the majority.
Personal Embarrassment
People can be quite merciless regarding the telling of tales about someone's embarrassing moments, but when someone tells stories about their own mishaps, that becomes admirable. Self-deprecating humor will entertain your audience and help to eliminate you being the butt of a joke in the future. You don't, of course, have to tell an audience about your most embarrassing moment ever.
Things I'd Change
This is a good topic to have fun with. The speech could begin sensibly, but then gradually become more silly. The beginning of the speech could include a desire to change the time school opens, for example. As the speech progresses, it should become more humorous, with ideas ranging from bringing strange subjects into the school curriculum to very unusual teaching ideas.
Strange Likes
Having peculiar tastes can evince sometimes nervous laughter. Utilizing one's strange likes in a speech can bring about laughter, but it can also be laughter of a nervous kind, when someone in the audience has similarly peculiar tastes. Eccentric tastes, regarding food, is one idea for this particular topic. Having incongruous music tastes would be another idea to consider. Incongruous music tastes could be a liking for both country music and heavy metal. Strange likes can be exaggerated, of course, as it's meant to be a funny speech, not your real life story.
Mock Incompetence
A combination of bad jokes and dreadfully unfunny stories could make your performance funny by itself. With deliberate mumbling, mispronunciation of words, unfunny stories and jokes told in a stilted way, you should still pretend to be serious at the same time. It may confuse an audience, but, as you near the end of the speech, you can put the audience out of its misery and reveal the truth. Maybe the audience will marvel at your genius.
