Brand A Company

Some of the Worlds Best Logos

This is a article on either create a new brand or re-brand an existing company. This is not an easy task, as there are many steps that you need to take to be able to successfully brand a company. Whether you are starting a new brand or re-branding an existing one, it is a worthwhile process that can bring in a great amount of revenue and create a new set of emotions and feelings towards a company.

Instructions

1. If you are starting with a new brand, than you are going to have to start from scratch. You are going to want to take your brand and come up with a color palette from which you can create all of your brand material with. You want these colors to suggest a feeling about your brand, where customers will see your colors and they will feel certain emotions about this.

2. Once you have picked out a color pallet, you can move on to other steps of the branding process. What you will want to do next is to take your colors and the emotions that you have decided you want your brand to elicit, you will create a logo. The logo is a visual representation of your company, and you want it to not just represent your brand. Your logo should convey emotionality about the brand. Think about the Nike logo; the swish. What do you think of when you see it? It conveys emotion to the customer, emotions such as passion, intensity and love for the game. It becomes much more than just a swish, it becomes a visual identity of a brand.

3. After coming up with a color scheme and designing a logo, there a few different routes you can take. If you are going to need internal marketing materials than this is the next step to take. Business cards, personal stationary, envelopes, and a website are all plausible pieces to create, depending on what you need for your brand. The business card is essential and is also one of the easiest pieces to do differently. Try and think of all of the business cards you have seen and think what makes them stick out in your head. There are simple things you can do to make a business card stick out, such as imposing graphic elements (such as your logo) and interesting type treatment. When you are dealing with the internal marketing pieces, you want to keep a consistent style. So when you create the business card or stationary, they should look extremely similar.

4. This last step is only if you have the budget and the need for it, but creating and placing advertising would be key in creating a surging brand. When you create ads for your brand, it is key to know where you are going to be placing it. Whether its a newspaper ad, a magazine ad, a commercial (I would really recommend staying away from this unless you have the budget to do it right), an outdoor ad, or an nontraditional ad. With low budget in a small market, nontraditional guerrilla ads can be the best and most cost effective option. With creating ads you really want to try and convey the feeling of your brand in a very eye catching and attention grabbing way. Good ads can make a company far more than it had ever been before.

5. You are never going to be done branding a company, whether its building on your image or working on a new marketing piece. But this should be a good start to either what to re-brand or what to work on when starting a new company.
